Mill Pond Press Introduces the Limited Edition Art of Vidan

Born in 1965 in Perugia, in the Umbria region between Rome and Florence, Vidan pursued his passion for art, attending some of Italys finest art schools. These included the Liceo Artistico di Milano and later the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. After moving to the U.S. in 1988, he created artwork for a number of book publishers before devoting himself exclusively to the creation of his fine art.

Vidans use of minimal background together with his loose, painterly style serve to emphasize his amazing virtuosity with light. Today, working exclusively with oils on canvas, Vidan paints in a gallery alongside his uncle, the renowned artist Pino. Vidans original portraits and landscapes are found in many prestigious galleries, earning him a reputation as one of the worlds premier expressive artists.

Vidan is an extraordinarily talented artist. His luminous paintings and sensual portraits reveal a spectrum of hues in addition to a range of atmosphere and emotion. His mastery of the female form as well as his ability to portray mood make his work especially appealing to women.

Vidans first two paintings to be published by Mill Pond Press are both signed and numbered offset paper editions of 450 prints at $165. Sunbathing (30" x 20"), as the title suggests, depicts a woman welcoming the suns warmth, almost like a flower that turns to the light. Dawns Reflection (30" x 16") shows a young woman lost in her thoughts. Writes the artist, Turning to the window, a wistful young woman pauses to reflect. Although she gazes at the world beyond the curtains, at this moment, it is her own world that she sees. It is a world of reverie, filled with hope and promise, wishes and memories, conversations recalled and songs remembered.
